Is Sugar-Free and Fat-Free the Only Way to Make Healthy Dessert Recipes?

It would seem that for those of us who are looking to shed a few pounds, we would want to cut out all sugar and fat especially in sweets, but is that the best way to make healthy dessert recipes? You may be surprised to find out that when it comes to healthy dessert recipes, sugar free products, sugar substitutes, margarines, shortening, and the like are nowhere to be found!

Why? Well, consuming and baking with artificial sweeteners and chemically engineered butter products only increase your cravings for sweets and also feed into your desire for unhealthy carbohydrates. What most people don’t understand about zero-calorie products is that they are non-foods.

This means that once you ingest these chemical substances and they make their way to the small intestine, your brain will shortly realize that there is no nutrition whatsoever in the substance. This then will send a message to your brain to release hunger cues in order to kick-start the process of digesting these non-foods. This means more overall calorie consumption for you and ultimately weight gain. So much for zero calorie food!

Are “Sugar free” and “Diet” Products an Unhealthy Part of a Healthy Eating Plan?

This is the biggest conundrum of them all: diet foods are actually hazardous to your diet? How can this be? Well we must look first of all to your liver’s functionality. If you are someone who has diet or sugar free products as a part of your eating plan, you need to tally up how much you ingest each day. After you find out how much you consume, you will be better equipped to conclude whether or not those products may be to blame for your stubborn weight gain.

Has weight always been a problem for you? Have you always relied on diet products to help you lose weight? Do those diet products have chemicals in them, artificial sweeteners or substitutes?

It may be more than just a coincidence that every “diet” you’ve tried has failed you. The products they pedal, the recipes they push, and the sweetener you are undoubtedly eating all add up to one big problem. It’s no wonder you are frustrated and fed up! The products that are trying to convince you that they can assist in weight loss are actually preventing it!

Practical Ways to Have Your Sweets without the Artificial Foods Diet Program

So how do you readdress your diet in order to choose foods—especially sweets—that won’t derail your diet efforts?

First, always look to nature. Natural foods will be the key ingredient to your successful diet plan. This means that you may need to eliminate artificial sweeteners and fat free foods from your diet. However, this is a tall order especially since you may have become accustomed to the taste and in turn have actually grown somewhat addicted to it.

Artificial sweeteners will always be sweeter that sugar itself, which makes breaking the habit even more difficult. However, try using Stevia in your baking recipes and in your everyday mug of java. Stevia comes from an herb and is extremely sweet to the taste, much like artificial sweeteners but without the chemical manipulation. Stevia also doesn’t affect your insulin levels, which is why most people turn to artificial sweeteners in the first place.

Real sugar is like a yo-yo to your insulin levels causing a rise in blood sugar as well as fatigue, cravings and ultimately can result in the development of diabetes.

Tip: After only 72 hours of no sugar, your cravings for the sweet stuff will drop off dramatically. Commit yourself to the cause, and you will find that your weight loss efforts can’t be thwarted.
